Creadora de un arte que indaga en lo psicod\u00e9lico, obliga a que el ojo abandone las nociones tradicionales de espacio y realidad.<\/p>\n<p>Sus obras, basadas en sus propias alucinaciones, son la base de ese estilo tan caracter\u00edstico que cultiva punteando lienzos, objetos e incluso personas. No en vano, ella lo llama su &#8216;telara\u00f1a infinita&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Con los espejos multiplica el espacio que nos rodea, con los lunares penetra en las emociones y con las luces rompe la frontera entre el espectador y el entorno, creando un espacio art\u00edstico de infinidad.<\/p>\n<p>Kusama a menudo ha declarado abiertamente en entrevistas que est\u00e1 obsesionada con el sexo (y, por extensi\u00f3n, con el machismo y el lugar del hombre en la sociedad).<\/p>\n<p>Cuando era peque\u00f1a, la artista japonesa padeci\u00f3 una madre abusiva y un padre estricto y ad\u00faltero, lo que probablemente repercuti\u00f3 en su desconfianza hacia el sexo y las relaciones \u00edntimas.<\/p>\n<p>En su vasta obra se aprecia tambi\u00e9n una fascinaci\u00f3n por las formas y s\u00edmbolos f\u00e1licos. Ya sea un lunar o un falo aterrador, ha creado miles de im\u00e1genes para transmitir su sentido del horror.<\/p>\n<p>En sus obras, la artista expresa el concepto de \u00abautoaniquilaci\u00f3n\u00bb porque dice temer la desaparici\u00f3n de la individualidad.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan el blog alem\u00e1n especializado en arte contempor\u00e1neo, <em>Artsper<\/em>, \u00abse trata de una mujer complicada con muchos pensamientos y rasgos de personalidad contradictorios\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>En un mundo del arte todav\u00eda dominado, en gran medida, por hombres, Kusama es una de las artistas vivas m\u00e1s coleccionadas del momento, sus obras han llegado a superar los cinco millones de d\u00f3lares en diversas subastas, algo in\u00e9dito para un artista en vida.<\/p>\n<p>Agotada mentalmente, Kusama, tras una larga estancia en Nueva York al lado de artista como Andy Warhol, regres\u00f3 a Jap\u00f3n en 1973. En el 77 decidi\u00f3 ingresarse voluntariamente de forma perpetua en el Hospital Mental Seiwa.<\/p>\n<p>Su estudio est\u00e1 en las inmediaciones del complejo hospitalario, donde todav\u00eda hoy trabaja todos los d\u00edas pese a requerir una silla de ruedas para moverse.
