Asomaron sin complejos con \u201cParachutes\u201d, y pu\u00f1etazos del calibre de \u201cYellow\u201d, \u201cDon\u2019t panic\u201d, \u201cTrouble\u201d o \u201cSpark\u201d, en una \u00e9poca en la que declararte fan de Coldplay equival\u00eda autom\u00e1ticamente a ganarte la etiqueta de freakie por simpatizar con grupos \u201cdesconocidos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>El aterrizaje medi\u00e1tico propulsado por la s\u00f3lida \u201cIn my place\u201d, trajo perlas como \u201cThe scientist\u201d o \u201cClocks\u201d y un redondo \u201cA rush of blood to the head\u201d. Entonces, la misma persona que te hab\u00eda menospreciado por tus preferencias alternativas te ped\u00eda t\u00edmidamente el disco (y se sub\u00eda al tren oportunista del momento para llegar donde t\u00fa estabas tres a\u00f1os antes). \u201cViva\u00a0 la Vida\u201d levant\u00f3 el \u00e1nimo alica\u00eddo del mediocre X &amp; Y\u201d pero la nueva entrega ha hundido el list\u00f3n en el fango.<\/p>\n<p>El caso de Red Hot Chili Peppers es curioso. De iconos del funky a estandartes de un pop-rock m\u00e1s accesible (cambio camale\u00f3nico que tambi\u00e9n han sufrido Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams o Green Day, cada uno desde su respectivo punto de partida, pero todos ellos en la misma meta de rendici\u00f3n\/dulcificaci\u00f3n). Las cotas de excelencia del \u201cCalifornication\u201d nunca se superaron y la banda se despe\u00f1\u00f3 barranco abajo, en una ca\u00edda lenta de la que se resiente el 50% del \u201cBy the way\u201d y tres cuartas partes del \u201cStadium Arcadium\u201d. El segundo cap\u00edtulo de la secci\u00f3n musical se engloba en la secci\u00f3n \u201cFiascos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-scayt_word=\"COLDPLAY\" data-scaytid=\"50\">COLDPLAY<\/span>: <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cMYLO\" data-scaytid=\"51\">\u201cMYLO<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"XYLOTO\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"52\">XYLOTO\u201d<\/span> (2011)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Empezaremos por lo b\u00e1sico: la rareza del t\u00edtulo va directamente asociada al <span data-scayt_word=\"surrealismo\" data-scaytid=\"53\">surrealismo<\/span> del contenido y, por ende, a la incredulidad y la incomprensi\u00f3n. Tres a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de dejar al mundo at\u00f3nito y boquiabierto con \u201cViva la vida\u201d, un compendio de <span data-scayt_word=\"pop\" data-scaytid=\"54\">pop<\/span> emotivo que dosificaba con habilidad su coqueteo <span data-scayt_word=\"mainstream\" data-scaytid=\"55\">mainstream<\/span>, <span data-scayt_word=\"Coldplay\" data-scaytid=\"56\">Coldplay<\/span> nos cierra la mand\u00edbula con un golpe brusco, con la misma furia con la que un director insatisfecho le da a la <span data-scayt_word=\"claqueta\" data-scaytid=\"57\">claqueta<\/span> para anunciar la repetici\u00f3n de una escena durante un rodaje interminable.<\/p>\n<p>Rascacielos barrocos cuyo interior est\u00e1 vac\u00edo, \u00e9pica de m\u00e1quina, <span data-scayt_word=\"despersonalizaci\u00f3n\" data-scaytid=\"58\">despersonalizaci\u00f3n<\/span> y, en general, un artefacto que ni podr\u00eda pasar por el quir\u00f3fano porque no hay pinzas con las que sujetarlo. El paso en falso del <span data-scayt_word=\"sobreproducido\" data-scaytid=\"59\">sobreproducido<\/span> e insulso \u201cX &amp; Y\u201d parec\u00eda ser cosa del pasado pero como m\u00ednimo sonaban a ellos mismos. Ahora, <span data-scayt_word=\"Chris\" data-scaytid=\"60\">Chris<\/span> Mart\u00edn y sus secuaces han dado una vuelta de tuerca en sentido contrario hasta endurecer y petrificar el mecanismo y condenarlo a la oxidaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>La introductoria <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cMylo\" data-scaytid=\"61\">\u201cMylo<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"xyloto\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"62\">xyloto\u201d<\/span>, una copia barata de <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cLife\" data-scaytid=\"63\">\u201cLife<\/span> in <span data-scayt_word=\"technicolor\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"64\">technicolor\u201d<\/span>, deja paso a <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cHurts\" data-scaytid=\"65\">\u201cHurts<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"like\" data-scaytid=\"66\">like<\/span> heaven\u201d, ritmo de percusi\u00f3n adolescente y gui\u00f1os <span data-scayt_word=\"techno\" data-scaytid=\"67\">techno<\/span> hasta el estrabismo. Sigue con <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cParadise\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"68\">\u201cParadise\u201d<\/span>, en\u00e9simo intento de recrear una atm\u00f3sfera emotiva tipo banda sonora, es decir, una fallida segunda parte de \u201cViva la vida\u201d. El estribillo, que se canta con \u00e9nfasis \u201cPara, para, <span data-scayt_word=\"paradise\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"69\">paradise\u201d<\/span>, contiene peligrosos ecos de la <span data-scayt_word=\"Madonna\" data-scaytid=\"70\">Madonna<\/span> m\u00e1s <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201ccutre-discotequera\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"71\">\u201ccutre-discotequera\u201d<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Y as\u00ed podr\u00edamos seguir, sin olvidarnos del single, \u201cEvery <span data-scayt_word=\"teardrop\" data-scaytid=\"82\">teardrop<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"is\" data-scaytid=\"79\">is<\/span> a waterfall\u201d, cuyo <span data-scayt_word=\"sampler\" data-scaytid=\"80\">sampler<\/span> de \u201cEl ritmo de la noche\u201d es <span data-scayt_word=\"sonrojante\" data-scaytid=\"81\">sonrojante<\/span> (\u00bfde verdad no la conoc\u00edan o es que el alcance de aquella canci\u00f3n es exclusivamente latino?). Puede que en la noche de jolgorio guiri de <span data-scayt_word=\"Lloret\" data-scaytid=\"78\">Lloret<\/span> sea una referencia\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Para aguar todav\u00eda m\u00e1s la fiesta, el nefasto refrito de <span data-scayt_word=\"Pet\" data-scaytid=\"84\">Pet<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"Shop\" data-scaytid=\"85\">Shop<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"Boys\" data-scaytid=\"86\">Boys<\/span> (en su fase de abducci\u00f3n <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cNew\" data-scaytid=\"87\">\u201cNew<\/span> York <span data-scayt_word=\"City\" data-scaytid=\"88\">City<\/span> Boy\u201d) en <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cPrincess\" data-scaytid=\"89\">\u201cPrincess<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"of\" data-scaytid=\"72\">of<\/span> China\u201d o <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cUp\" data-scaytid=\"90\">\u201cUp<\/span> in <span data-scayt_word=\"flames\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"91\">flames\u201d<\/span>, con <span data-scayt_word=\"sampler\" data-scaytid=\"83\">sampler<\/span> del <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cProtection\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"92\">\u201cProtection\u201d<\/span> de <span data-scayt_word=\"Massive\" data-scaytid=\"93\">Massive<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"Attack\" data-scaytid=\"94\">Attack<\/span>. El colof\u00f3n va a cargo de dos temas <span data-scayt_word=\"intranscendentes\" data-scaytid=\"95\">intranscendentes<\/span> que no llegan al minuto (\u201cA <span data-scayt_word=\"hopeful\" data-scaytid=\"96\">hopeful<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"transmission\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"97\">transmission\u201d<\/span> y <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cM.M.I.X\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"73\">\u201cM.M.I.X\u201d<\/span>) y son un interludio hueco entre vac\u00edo y vac\u00edo. <span data-scayt_word=\"\u201cMylo\" data-scaytid=\"74\">\u201cMylo<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"xyloto\u201d\" data-scaytid=\"75\">xyloto\u201d<\/span> te lanza a la estanter\u00eda de <span data-scayt_word=\"cd\u2019s\" data-scaytid=\"98\">cd\u2019s<\/span> para rescatar joyas del pasado y cerciorarnos que <span data-scayt_word=\"Coldplay\" data-scaytid=\"76\">Coldplay<\/span> ten\u00eda talento.<\/p>\n<p>Nunca antes <span data-scayt_word=\"Coldplay\" data-scaytid=\"77\">Coldplay<\/span> hab\u00eda hecho honor a su nombre. \u00bfA qu\u00e9 juegan? Pues a un juego fr\u00edo, sin un m\u00edsero oasis de calor en este desierto de hielo.
