Parece que The Cars se congelaran en alguna m\u00e1quina del tiempo y hayan reaparecido 24 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s sin ninguna noci\u00f3n del contexto musical y art\u00edstico. Con la ingenuidad del que no tiene prejuicios y mucha fe en s\u00ed mismos, Ric Ocasek y sus compinches nos entregan un disco intemporal. Pero no porque sea transcendente, est\u00e9 sujeto a una moda o se encuentre encima del bien y del mal sino porque, sin ninguna informaci\u00f3n previa, es casi imposible adivinar su fecha de elaboraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Porque The Cars vuelven a sonar como ellos mismos (sin plagiarse) y a la vez parecen actuales: la p\u00f3cima infalible de su personalidad unida a algunas gotas de estilos y bandas m\u00e1s recientes. Los autores de \u00e9xitos tan ochenteros (pero v\u00e1lidos) como \u201cYou might think\u201d, \u201cDrive\u201d o \u201cHeartbeat city\u201d traen una propuesta esperanzadora, de aquellas que te hacen reconciliar con la m\u00fasica cuando uno ya ha desechado el concepto \u201coriginalidad\u201d y se muestra esc\u00e9ptico a la posibilidad de impresionarse y de encontrar algo que le agite y remueva.<\/p>\n<p>La s\u00edntesis equilibrada entre pop y techno y la sofisticaci\u00f3n de sus sintetizadores (secundarios de lujo y no chupac\u00e1maras) te deja una mueca de sonrisa y un deseo de activar las piernas. El punto \u00e1lgido de \u201cMove like this\u201d, que combina h\u00e1bilmente medios tiempos con bocetos de baladas, se llama \u201cSad song\u201d, un hit en toda regla id\u00f3neo para las discotecas que The Killers convertir\u00edan en su segundo \u201cHuman\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Los arrebatos rockeros de \u201cKeep on knocking\u201d y \u201cDrag on forever\u201d (memorable riff pegadizo) se llevan bien con la ingr\u00e1vida \u201cSoon\u201d, declaraci\u00f3n de intenciones de buen rollo y cadencia reposada, o con el viaje al pasado de \u201cTake another look\u201d, que bien podr\u00eda haber salido de la factor\u00eda Duran Duran o A-Ha.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00c9ste es otro ejemplo de dignidad, de vigencia y de obligada veneraci\u00f3n al conocimiento acumulado y a la eterna juventud.
